Koi dhan da koi tan da koi man da maan kare;
Jis maalak ne sabh kujh ditai isdi na pahichan kare. Chaar dinan di kaya pa ke bhul baitha ey hasti nun; Aakhar oh din aa jana ey chhadna paina masti nun. Fir pachhtayan kujh nahin hona hun samjhen tan vela ey; Kahe avtar guru nun milyan hunda janam suhela ey. |

Some are proud of their body, some of their wealth and some of their intellect;
But they do not try to know God, who has bestowed all these bounties. O' man, having got this human body for a short span of time you have forgotten your real entity, The day shall come at last when you shall have to snap your ties with worldly pleasures. Repenting at that time shall be of no avail, now is the time for you to understand if you so do; Avtar says, meeting the True Master makes life blissful. |
Meaning
Some are proud of their body, some of their wealth and some of their brain (intellect). But they do not try to know God, who has given all these gifts or rewards. O'man, having got this human body for a short span of time you have forgotten your real entity, The day will come at last when you will have to go away from the worldly pleasures. Regretting at that time will be of no use, now is the time for you to understand and realise. Baba Avtar Singh ji says that meeting the True Master makes life blissful.
